Kevin Pakenham joined Putnam Lovell's London team in 2000 as Managing Director. Mr. Pakenham has had a career in banking and asset management and has held senior management positions in the global asset management industry in London over many years. Transactions which Mr. Pakenham has led include:
- Royal Philips Electronics' sale of its asset management business to Merrill Lynch Investment Managers
- Investec plc's reverse merger of its private client subsidiary Carr Sheppards Crosthwaite Limited with Rensburg PLC
- American Express Co.'s sale of its Luxembourg private banking business to UBS AG
- Royal Bank of Scotland's establishment of Royal Bank of Scotland Asset Management Limited
- New Star Asset Management's purchase of six unit trust management contracts from Aberdeen Asset Management
- Momentum Group’s sale to Pioneer Global Asset Management Inc.
Prior to joining Putnam Lovell, Mr. Pakenham was CEO of Govett Investments from 1988 to 2000 and CEO of AIB Asset Management from 1996 to 2000. Prior to that he was Managing Director of F&C Management from 1983 to 1988.
Upon completing his Masters in economics at St. Antony's College, Oxford University, in 1972, Mr. Pakenham joined Rothschild Intercontinental Bank as Senior Economist. He became Group Economist at American Express Bank, before taking on responsibilities in the international bond and currency markets. He has served on a wide variety of investment boards in Europe, U.S.A. and Asia Pacific.
